Current Release is 3.2 of the server 3.1 of the manager and 3.8 of the client.
Known problems / bugs (please email support@howudodat.com with new bugs or issues)
Bugs:- When changing "Echo Room" status, the user list in the manager isn't updated to add/delete Mr. Echo (Workaround: close and reopen the manager)
- When a profile room is spawned, the # of configured users doesn't always show right in the manager (Workaround: close and reopen the manager)
- If you add/update a room when the server is stopped all room configs but one are lost.
- The browser wont launch real player when surfed to .ram files
- While holding down the ctrl key, if you try and right click in the text chat, it appears to freeze (Workaround: Don't do that)
- Client sometimes freezes when pressing ctrl and clicking on the menu
- Redirects don't work in browser window if browsing disabled
Requested Features (Let us know if you'd like to see these features in the product):
- Play a sound when the file transfer is done
- Ability to ignore users
- Have an indication as to who has the control of the app sharing
- Maximize screen space if url is hidden
- Put copy of shared app in the tab of the person sharing
The Version 1.x and 2.x client and server are no longer supported as of 1/1/2005
Version 3.0 was officially release 10/1/2004.
The 3.0 release Chatterbox is a complete re-write of the user interface. We have also added significant features in the area of presentation sharing. This feature allows you to share PowerPoint and Flash presentations. Please note that we are currently re-working our roadmap so some of these features my change.
Upcoming Features- Video. This is just as it sounds. In our current design, there would be a "video" window that streams (bandwidth allowing) video from one to one and one to many
- Invisible User. An invisible user that can monitor the room
- Private voice sessions. The ability to "tear off" into a private room, from a public room
- Remote Control. A simpler method of remote controlling a users pc.
Features further in the future
- Internationalization and Localization. Features to make the product more usable in other languages and regions of the world.
- Large Scale, Low Bandwidth (LS/LB) Server. A system we have already designed that will allow thousands of users on a single server/room with extremely low bandwidth requirements for the server, but still sustain high levels of voice quality. The real benefit is that the bandwidth required would not cost the server owner any additional connect or bandwidth fees from their service provider.
- Server Clustering. A way to provide automatic fault tolerance and load balancing. This architecture would be an alternative to the LS/LB server. In certain situations the LS/LB server may not be the preferred approach for hosting hundreds of users and/or provide the level of fault tolerance needed.
